Before looking into specific scholarships, let’s clarify the difference between grants and scholarships:
- Grants: These are financial gifts that do not require repayment. They are typically awarded based on availability and timing. Some grants may be first-come, first-serve, so it’s essential to stay informed about application deadlines.
- Scholarships: Scholarships are also gifts, but they are often based on academic achievement, financial need, or a combination of both. Scholarships can significantly reduce the financial burden of pursuing a DBA.
2. Notable DBA Scholarships
a. EDBA Cyber Scholarship
- Annual Amount: Varies (Minimum $5,000 for EDBA students)
- Eligibility: EDBA-Cyber students interested in cybersecurity academically or professionally.
- Application Process: Apply through the UCCS Scholarship Application in the MyUCCS Portal. Answer “yes” to the cybersecurity interest question.
- Deadline: Admitted to the EDBA-Cyber program by June 1st.
b. Graduate School Tuition Matching Grant
- Annual Amount: Up to $4,000 (split between Fall and Spring semesters)
- Eligibility: New graduate students, non-residents prioritized. Must receive a teaching or research assistantship related to the educational program.
- Requirements: 3.0 GPA or higher, enrolled in 6 or more credit hours each semester.
